My Husky Expedition!

In March 2025, my husband and I visited Alta in northern Norway as research for my fifth book, The Lone Husky.

There, we spent five unforgettable days mushing across snowy trails with our own team of huskies. Yes, I really did stand on the sled runners, wind in my face, the dogs charging ahead—and yes, it was every bit as magical (and cold!) as it sounds. More importantly, I experienced firsthand the deep connection between musher and dog – a connection built on trust, respect, and care.

We also witnessed the start of the Finnmarksløpet, Europe’s longest sled race. What stayed with me wasn’t the competition, but the teamwork—the quiet, powerful bond that keeps a sled moving forward through even the toughest terrain. That spirit became the heart of The Lone Husky.

Hope these photos and videos transport you there!
